Wisemart Solicitors provides a fixed-fee service for applications concerning family members, including partner visas, dependent adult relatives, and dependent children. Our service is designed to ensure that applications are prepared to the highest standard while avoiding costly errors.

  • Average Cost: £1500 – £2000 (all figures excluding VAT unless expressly stated)

Team Composition and Time Allocation

  • Personnel Involved:
    • A Senior Partner who exercises overall supervision and quality control
    • A Solicitor, supported by a caseworker, responsible for day-to-day matters
  • Estimated Time Commitment:
    • Approximately 20 hours on average
    • Actual time required is contingent upon factors such as:
      • The volume and complexity of supporting evidence
      • The number of applicants involved
      • Specific case complexities (e.g., prior refusals, criminal convictions, adverse immigration history)

 

Scope of Service & Process

Our representation typically involves the following steps:

  • Initial Consultation and Assessment:

    • A detailed initial attendance to scrutinise the applicant’s evidentiary materials and discuss available options
    • Evaluation and determination of the most appropriate application strategy in light of the client’s circumstances
  • Legal Advice and Compliance:

    • Provision of comprehensive advice on the relevant Immigration Rules, guidance, and evidentiary requirements
    • Recommendations on the optimal method of submission, whether via priority, premium, or standard servicing
  • Evidence Management:

    • Critical review of all supporting documentation, identifying any deficiencies
    • Assistance with the procurement of additional evidence, including liaising with third parties (e.g. medical experts, banks, or employers), where permissible
  • Application Preparation and Submission:

    • Preparation of a complete application package, incorporating all supporting evidence
    • Drafting of detailed representations and the assembly of an indexed bundle for final submission to the Home Office
  • Ongoing Communication and Advisory:

    • Regular updates on the progress of the application and any required further submissions
    • Advice on the implications of the application outcome and guidance on subsequent steps

Exclusion from Fixed Fee

  • Home Office Fees:
    • Fees payable directly to the Home Office are not included in our fixed fee
  • Additional Expenses:
    • VAT, disbursements for medical or expert evidence, and barrister fees are excluded from the quoted costs
  • Refusal-Related Costs:
    • In the event of a Home Office refusal, any further advice and assistance regarding appeals, reconsiderations, or issues concerning dependents will be provided under separate terms
  • Fee Notification:
    • All additional charges will be communicated to the applicant at the earliest opportunity prior to their incurrence

Time and Fee Estimates

The preparation time for this application can vary significantly; however, our experience indicates that:

  • Preparation Time:
    • Generally ranges from 20 to 40 hours, with thorough preparation rarely achievable in under 20 hours.
  • Cost Estimates:
    • On average, the cost for appeals representation ranges between £1500 and £2000, dependent on whether the work is undertaken by a solicitor or a partner.
    • These figures exclude VAT (20%), although applicants residing outside the European Union are not charged VAT.

Application Timescale

    • From the date of instruction, the application process typically requires between two to four months, subject to the complexity of the applicant’s immigration history
  • Processing Time:
    • The timeframe for the Home Office to process submitted applications cannot be guaranteed and will be advised as soon as it is known
